Responsibilities
We're looking for an experienced web developer to participate in the planning, development, testing, and maintenance of web sites and web applications. You will be expected to stay abreast of trends in web design, web standards, production, and technology, and contribute ideas and innovations for projects and methodologies on an ongoing basis.
Qualifications
- 3+ years of hands-on experience with web technologies like Ruby on Rails, Plone, PHP, Perl, Python, MySQL, XML, Ajax, JavaScript
- Ability to design and build web applications
- Expert HTML production skills, including CSS positioning, code validation, and web standards expertise
- Exceptional analytical skills
- Ability to focus on solution-driven results
- Experience with database design and programming
- Strong understanding of development and deployment processes for hosted web applications
- Ability to troubleshoot and fix production bugs/issues
- Comfortable developing on UNIX/Linux
- Demonstrated abilities in working on multiple, simultaneous projects
- Strong experience with both custom and open source solutions
- Passion for web standards

- Experience authoring formal technical specifications and related documents
- Strong SQL skills with 3+ years of experience
- User interface/usability experience
